Frequently Asked Questions
Is Window Tint Legal
Yes window tint is legal. Every state has their own laws regarding window tint. In Wisconsin the law is 50% on the front 2 windows and 35% on the rear sides and rear windshield. The front windshield is only allowed to have the top 6", or to the "AS1" line covered but that can be 5%. Trucks and SUV's typically have 20% factory tint on the rear sides and rear windshield. You can choose to go darker then what is legal in Wisconsin, but that is at your own risk. If you get pulled over, most times you will be let off with a warning or a "fix it" ticket, but you can receive a fine.

Do I need to clean my car
before I bring it in
It is not required to clean your car before bringing it in. However, if your car is very dirty this will effect the quality of the finished product. Does your furry friend ride with you frequently? Please do your best to vacuum up their hairs before bringing your car in. Pet hair is drawn like a magnet to window tint because of its static charge. Do your drive off road frequently? If you do, please run the vehicle through a car wash before bringing it in.

I already have tint but want darker/lighter
Please let us know if you already have tint on the vehicle. It is not recommended to tint over old tint. Tinting over old tint will void the lifetime warranty of our new tint. Also any imperfections that exist in the old tint will still be seen in the new job. Old window tint adhesive will break down over time and it is best to get rid of any old tint before putting new tint on. We do charge for tint removal as this ads considerable time to the job. You can remove it yourself, but be careful to get ALL of the old adhesive off. Any remaining adhesive will result in a removal charge. Rear windshield tint removal especially is best left to a professional. If not done correctly a rear windshield adhesive removal can take hours to fix a botched job.

Is Tail light Tint Legal
No. The short answer is ANY covering over your head lights or tail lights is not legal in Wisconsin. Proceed at your own risk. The law also says lights must be visible from 100 yards, which they generally still are after tinting.

Will my tint job be perfect
No, there is no such thing as a perfect tint job. We strive to make every tint job as close to perfect as we can. Due to the nature of the product there will be some degree of dust/contamination or minor imperfections in every tint job. Pre-existing flaws, scratches or metal deposits on the glass may also become more noticeable after the windows are tinted.

How long will it take to dry
View your window tint from a distance of 3-5 feet. Look through it, not at it. Your tint will take almost 30 days to fully cure to the window. During this time the film may look cloudy or hazy at times. You may also see small water pockets form into a bubble or a blister caused by excess moisture trapped between the glass and the film. Please do not poke, prod or try to push them out in any way. The film is a porous material and all the water will evaporate out in time. Drying times may vary with the seasons. Do NOT roll your windows down for at least 2 day after installation.
How to take care of my new tint
Tinting your windows makes them scratch-resistant, not scratch-proof. So you’ll still want to be gentle when moving sharp objects, boxes, and sports equipment around your interior. And don’t forget to take your seatbelt off carefully. This will keep the metal buckle from flying back and chipping your window tint. Use a soft cloth or micro-fiber towel when cleaning the windows. Do not use ammonia based products such as Windex "unless its labeled ammonia free" to clean the windows. Ammonia can break down the adhesive over time. Sticking to soap and water is best.

Black dots around window edge
Most vehicles have black dots going all around the windshield. The black painted dots are raised off the glass and don't allow the window tint to stick to the glass between the dots. This results in a whitish line going around the edge of the windshield. Usually this isn't very noticeable however, some vehicles have a much wider area of black dots on the top of the windshield and that can make the are look slightly imperfect.
